Favorites::August 2014

It's been more than a week into September, and I haven't written down my favorites for August yet. So without further ado, here it goes.


First up is the NYX Round Lipstick in Haute Couture

I cannot say enough good things about this lipstick. It's creamy, it's shimmery, and the glitter, OMFG. I have a review of this over on my other blog, so I won't go on and on about this one this time around.

Next up is the NYX Round Lipstick in Snow White

I haven't done a real review on this yet, so I'm not going to say anything here about that review except for the fact that I bloody love this lipstick. I feel like Regina Mills from Once Upon A Time when I wear this lipstick, which is funny because she's the evil queen, but whatever.

Last for lipstick/lip products this month is the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Monte Carlo.

Notice a pattern here? I promise my September favorites will have things from other brands. I have a few Revlons that I'm really loving right now, so there's that. 

One of the best books I've read last month was Forgotten Sins by Rebecca Zanetti.

Not going to give away anything about the plot or the characters, but I'm just saying this one thing: get the book and read it. I've had it on my phone for months and I put off reading it because I had another 100 or so books to read, but I'm so happy that I DNF'd the last book I was reading before this. Now I'm getting more progress in my Goodreads Reading Challenge.

One of my favorite movies for August was Maleficent. 

Yes, I know the movie came out months ago, but I only watched it like a few weeks ago, because like I said in yet another blog of mine, I hate cinemas. So I waited. Nothing wrong with that. I loved this because of how complex they made Maleficent, and a whole bunch of other things that I already mentioned in the other blog. 

The other movie was Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Yes, once again, I am fully aware that this came out in April. Don't care. I hate cinemas. I love this because of the fight scenes which were really all kinds of cool, because of Emily VanCamp (and my unreasonable love for Revenge), because of basically the entire movie. I'm yet to watch Guardians of the Galaxy (*cough* YIFY, hurry up please. thanks *cough*), and I'll probably watch the new Avengers movie in September of next year, so I have this and all the other superhero movies I have to kill time while waiting.

One of the things I have mixed feelings on is the Pretty Little Liars Summer Finale. So much happened, and my feels are all over the place. I loved it because of Ezria and Spoby, and I hated the part where we pretty much lost all hope for Emison because Ali looked like such a bad guy already. And my feels just exploded when Hanna screamed in Mona's house and when Mona's dead body was shown in the last few seconds of the episode. I just wanted to cry. So that's one of my "almost favorites", but because they killed Mona (and will kill my feels once Mike's reaction in the next episode airs) it didn't make my favorites.

Hopefully this month, I have other things to share, like Lucy and maybe a pen I've been loving, but I'm not really sure. Gonna have to wait until this month's over.
