How to: Shop for earrings at Claire's

I've recently discovered the accessory heaven that is Claire's. My first visit was in July earlier this year, and at first, I was seriously intimidated because it was so white and immaculate-looking. I thought for sure that I wouldn't be able to get anything there that I could actually afford.

Oh, how wrong I had been.

This is the branch in Taguig, I think, so I haven't been there (yet) but I'm hoping that I could visit that branch soon. Short disclaimer here: I got this picture off the Claire's PH Facebook Page. I don't own it, nor do I claim to. Don't accuse me of copyright BS because I'm already saying this early in the post that that's not my picture. Okay? Okay. Moving on.

See that nice little sign on the upper right corner? On the day that picture was taken, the entire store was on a 50% off sale. Okay, now I really want to go to the Taguig branch.

After my second visit (both times in Glorietta 5), I finally figured out a battle plan on how to shop at Claire's. So here's how it goes.

20-pair Earring Sets

This was my first purchase off of Claire's. The 1-pair, 2-pair, however-many-pair earrings will go into another section later on. These sets cost around Php950-Php1000; sounds like a lot, but for the number of pairs you're getting, it's a miracle. I did the math, and buying the 20-pair sets would make the value of each pair of earrings around Php50. So next time you're at Claire's, find a set you like, fork over the magical blue bill of destiny, and pat yourself on the back for a job well done.

Sales & Deals

Like I said, the 3 for 2 sale is where I just jumped in to the store with my wallet out and everything. The deal is that if you buy 2 sets of earrings, you get the third one for free. Now, if you combine this deal with the 20-pair set deals, then you get 60 pairs of earrings for a little under Php2000. That would value each pair at Php33! Now, don't do this just because you feel like you're passing up on a great opportunity. Get this deal if you really do have 3 pieces of 20-pair sets that you want to buy.

Clearance Sales

Ta-da! This is where the other sets of earrings come into play. During a clearance sale at Claire's (or at least the one I was able to go to on my second visit), they have this really sweet deal of "5 for 500". Basically it means that if you pick five items off their clearance sale shelf/shelves, no matter what the cumulative cost is, you only have to pay Php500. On a regular day, those 1-pair earrings cost around Php235 (maybe?), and the others at around the same price. This is your chance to get 5 pairs that you really like from the sale, and only pay half the price of their original value.

Anyway, so far, those have been my tips and tricks on how to shop for earrings at Claire's. Please do keep in mind that the 5 for 500 sale does not only apply to earrings. You can also get necklaces and bracelets and other stuff in there as well. On my third visit, I'll do my best not to buy more earrings, but maybe a necklace or a headband instead? I don't know, maybe. Or maybe loom bands! Have fun shopping!
